Solar Energy Enhancement in Cross border Region
ROHU00099
Promoting renewable energy in accordance with Renewable Energy Directive (EU) 2018/2001,
including the sustainability criteria set out therein

The “Solar Energy Enhancement in Cross Border Region” (ROHU00099) project is implemented through the partnership of Romania and Hungary. Its goal is to promote renewable energy in line with the EU Directive 2018/2001. By installing solar panel systems in the areas of Lugașu de Jos and Komádi, the project aims to strengthen the sustainability of rural regions, bridging the gap between urban and rural energy use.
The project seeks to increase community awareness of the benefits of solar energy through workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder involvement. An important outcome is the development of a jointly created solar energy strategy, as well as the establishment of long-lasting partnerships. During the program, solar installations will also be deployed, serving as tangible signs of sustainability and community commitment.

The initiative goes beyond a technical investment: community participation, education, and feedback play a central role. The project’s aim is to reduce the carbon footprint, encourage self-sufficiency, and strengthen local communities. It is not only about energy development but also a shared step toward a greener, more resilient, and more cooperative future, where partnership and community spirit are key values.
